LAURA ELKESLASSY is the Executive Director of L’Atelier Theatre NY. She has been teaching acting and directing plays at L’Atelier since 2014. At L’Atelier, Laura has directed Moliere’s The Meiser, The Imaginary Invalid, Feydeau’s La Dame de chez Maxim, Ionesco’s Rhinoceros and Anton Chekhov’s On the High Road. A New York based actor and singer originally from Paris, France, her theater credits include the National Opera of Paris, the Venice Film Festival, La MaMa ETC, Classic Stage Company, The Rattlestick Theatre, Mabou Mines, The New Ohio, Target Margin Theater, HB Playwrights and Irondale Theater. As a singer, Laura has just released a live mutlimedia album, called Ya Ghorbati: Divas in Exile, an exploration of mid-century North African Judeo-Arab music.
